Global leadership in research
The University of Newcastle is a research-intensive institution with an exceptional record of achievement.
We are equally proud to be a young university competing among the world's best with a current ranking of 26th on the QS Top 50 under 50 (years) list. We recorded the biggest improvement for an Australian university on the list in 2013.
As well as a seven place jump on the QS Top 50 under 50 list, the QS World University Rankings placed ten of our disciplines in the top 200 in the world in 2013.
UoN Achievements provides further information on the upward trend in our rankings, with significant world movement in a range of areas, including English Language and Literature, Geography, Education and Engineering.
