There is no cost to apply directly.
Alternatively you can send it to an education agent in your home country.
Original or certified documents
Make sure you attach the necessary documentation. Please note that the University will accept only original or certified documents. Originals can be certified by an:
- Authorised officer of the official records department of the institution that originally issued the document
- Authorised officer of an Australian overseas diplomatic mission
- Education agent in your home country
If qualifications were obtained under a former name, please attach your present name to the documents. Certified translations must accompany documents that are not in English.
Evidence of graduate status should indicate that the academic requirements of the course have been completed or that the award has been conferred.
English language requirements
You must also comply with the level of English proficiency for the program you are applying for.
Then what happens?
Once we have received your application and lodged it on the University of Newcastle student system you will be sent an email with a username and password. You will be able to monitor the progress of your application online.
- If your application is successful you will receive a letter of offer. Please note the letter will outline the program including any additional conditions you must meet before accepting, fees payable, and your program commencement date.
- If your application is unsuccessful you will receive an explanatory letter.
Accept your offer
Accept your offer and pay the required deposit fees. Please note you should not accept a conditional offer.
Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
Once you have accepted your offer you will receive your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for visa processing purposes.
We participate in streamlined student visa processing which means faster visa assessment for international students who hold a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from the University.

The University of Newcastle is bound by the Privacy and Personal Information Act, 1998 and the Health Records Act 2002 and has a privacy management plan.
Please be advised that the University will not release a student's personal details, including academic information, to any agent, whether they are acting alone or on behalf of a family member, without the prior written consent of the student concerned.
